This is a double “Throwback Thursday”, first off, this story starts way back when I was an intern at RAMP. (By way back, I mean this past summer.) As an intern, I worked on a multitude of projects, from creating documentation to the very prestigious task of holding light reflectors for our video producer. One of the projects I worked on (and this is where the main part comes in) was an infographic on the history of video search and discovery within the enterprise. We called it “The Information Revolution” and it covered the challenges that plagued text-based documentation and how those same challenges impact video.
Universal Search has made it so any piece of content you have can now be conveniently found in a search. However, the new problem lies within making your video as easily searchable, valuable, and secure within your environment. In a throwback to Tuesday, Seth Early wrote a great piece on how to make your video a first class citizen in the enterprise.
Happy Throwback Thursday!
