FAQs

Ramp provides Canadian businesses with an all-in-one finance platform by combining corporate cards in CAD and USD, automated expense management, employee reimbursements, bill pay, and accounting sync. Ramp is used by over 70,000 businesses and is now purpose-built for the Canadian market, with CAD pricing, Canadian tax coding, and native integrations with the ERPs Canadian businesses use.

Same platform, same AI-powered automation, built for how Canadian businesses actually operate. The core platform is the same: corporate cards, expense management, reimbursements, bill pay, and accounting sync. The difference is that Ramp for Canadian businesses runs in CAD, auto-codes HST/GST/PST/QST on transactions, issues cards through Peoples Trust, an OSFI-regulated Canadian trust company, and syncs natively with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Microsoft Business Central, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct in Canadian dollars.

Eligibility requires at least one Canadian, US, or UK-registered entity to apply. Most registered Canadian businesses with a Business Number (BN) and a linked Canadian bank account are eligible. Cards are underwritten on the business itself, so there's no personal guarantee required.

Yes. Ramp offers Canadian businesses both CAD and USD corporate cards on a single login. CAD cards are available as physical cards with chip and tap and as virtual cards. USD cards are virtual only, useful for paying US-priced software, advertising, and services without the roughly 2.5% FX markup that most Canadian bank cards charge. No separate accounts, no separate logins, no manual reconciliation between currencies.

Ramp issues corporate cards, Visa, and processes bill payments via EFT, Electronic Funds Transfer, the standard bank-to-bank rail used for Canadian B2B payments. Employee reimbursements are also paid via EFT directly to Canadian bank accounts. For bank linking, Ramp supports Plaid connections with major Canadian banks including RBC, BMO, TD, CIBC, Scotiabank, Desjardins, EQ Bank, and Wealthsimple.

Ramp automatically captures and codes HST, GST, PST, and QST on transactions using OCR, no manual line-by-line entry. When an employee swipes a card or submits a receipt, Ramp reads the receipt, identifies the tax amounts and tax type, and maps them to the correct tax codes in your accounting software. This works across QuickBooks Online, Xero, Microsoft Business Central, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct. Instead of hand-coding provincial tax at month-end, your books stay coded in real time.

For Canadian businesses, Ramp natively integrates with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Microsoft Business Central, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct. Card transactions, reimbursements, and bill payments all sync as journal entries or AP bills based on your preference. For any other ERP, like Sage 300, Acumatica, and others, Ramp offers universal CSV export.

Ramp offers two plans for Canadian businesses. The Free plan is CA$0 per user per month while the Plus plan is CA$15 per user per month, with a 30-day free trial available, and adds a platform fee based on team size. Learn more about Ramp Canada pricing.
