Ramp Community AMA with Edwine Alphonse, CPA

Charlotte is Ramp's Customer Community Specialist focused on building virtual and physical spaces for our customers to connect. She’s lived in New York City since starting at Ramp in 2022. Before this, she grew up in Charlotte, NC (Charlotte from Charlotte!) and graduated from Yale University.

Edwine Alphonse is a seasoned accounting leader with two decades of experience in finance and accounting, specializing in building and scaling accounting functions at high-growth startups over the past 10 years. She began her career at EY and PwC, where she built a strong technical foundation before transitioning to the dynamic world of startups. Edwine is currently the Senior Controller at Ramp and has held similar leadership roles at Traackr and Circle. Throughout her career, Edwine has built and led high-performing teams across multiple geographies, developed and optimized financial processes, and implemented controls that have supported business expansion of up to 4,000%. She has also led numerous first-year audits and established scalable financial infrastructures that enable startups to grow efficiently and sustainably. Beyond her leadership in accounting, Edwine shares her insights and experiences through her LinkedIn newsletter, The Balanced Sheets, where she explores life through the lens of accounting.
