Can tax codes sync from an ERP to corporate card transactions?

Short answer

Yes. Ramp can use tax codes from your accounting system on corporate card transactions when the integration supports tax-code syncing and the required accounting fields are configured.

How ERP tax-code sync works

Your accounting system remains the source of truth for tax codes. Ramp makes those codes available on transactions so finance can apply or review the correct treatment before sync.

For receipt-driven tax coding, the account needs an active accounting integration with tax codes enabled, tax codes available in Ramp, and AI coding configured to auto-code the tax-code field. Ramp can then analyze an attached receipt and suggest a tax code when the receipt contains enough usable information.

Finance can override an editable tax code or tax amount before sync.

ERP support for international tax codes

With NetSuite, Ramp pulls configured tax codes into transactions, bills, and reimbursements. Available codes are filtered by the relevant subsidiary or country, and Ramp posts selected tax details at the line level when the transaction syncs.

QuickBooks Online supports tax-code syncing for supported non-US locales, including Canada and the UK. Sage Intacct supports tax coding through the Tax Detail field. Universal CSV supports tax-code setup through uploaded tax rates and codes.

For eligible Ramp accounts issued in Canada or the UK, automated tax coding is available without requiring Ramp Plus or Ramp Enterprise, provided the required integration and AI-coding setup are in place.
