Our next Accountant Spotlight Series proudly features Tasheena Pedersen, a dedicated bookkeeper at Ignite Spot Accounting.

Don’t forget that you can also nominate an accountant for one of our spotlights!

Back to Tasheena's journey, which in the world of bookkeeping is characterized by a dedication to accuracy and client success.

A natural affinity for numbers

Tasheena's interest in accounting was sparked in high school, where her talent was nurtured by an encouraging teacher. "I took a couple of classes in high school and was pretty good at it, so my teacher really encouraged me to pursue accounting," she recalls. This early exposure paved the way for her professional career.

For eight years, Tasheena has been a key player at Ignite Spot Accounting, honing her skills as a bookkeeper. As Tasheena described, “Ignite Spot is an outsourced accounting firm. We provide bookkeeping/accounting, controller, and CFO services. We service all sorts of companies from non-profit to animal shelters to medical companies.” Tasheena enjoys the new challenges and learning opportunities that each year brings, and she takes meticulous care to ensure that her clients' financial reports are clean and accurate. This dedication to details and commitment to curiosity is what makes bookkeeping a chosen career for many high-performing professionals like Tasheena.

Navigating client challenges with expertise

Tasheena often encounters clients struggling to understand their financial situation, especially regarding expenses and COGS.

She excels at clarifying these areas, helping clients gain a better grasp of their financial health. By providing these services and building continuous trust, Tasheena continues to build strong relationships with the clients she serves.

"Lately, I have seen clients wondering where all the money they make is going," she explains, highlighting the importance of her role in their financial clarity.

Delivering value through precision and support

Tasheena's greatest fulfillment comes from ensuring transactions are correctly coded and accounts reconciled. "When a client can have up-to-date and accurate information on their reports, it makes me feel like I have made a difference in their lives," she says, emphasizing the significance of her work.

As we discussed Tasheena’s favorite Ramp features, she naturally gravitated towards ‌accounting solutions. She shared, “I really like that you can create rules easily when coding transactions, that Ramp actually remembers what the transaction should be coded to based on the vendor, and that you can sync it to QuickBooks! Ramp saves me a lot of time when it comes to reconciling. I also really like the Insights portion to see the trend on spending compared to previous periods.”

Life beyond ledgers

Tasheena's life outside of work is filled with travel, scenic drives, and quality time with her nephews. Living with her grandparents, she finds joy in supporting and making memories with her family. She has a love for solo adventures and exploring new places.

In summary

Tasheena Pedersen's journey in bookkeeping is a testament to the impact meticulous work and client dedication can have. At Ramp, we celebrate her commitment to excellence and the personal touch she brings to her profession.
