Introducing Glass: Learn Things Once.

Last week, David Senra asked me: “How does Ramp move so fast?”

Today we’re launching the answer.

But before we do, I’d like to tell you why we built it.

Giving every employee AI — the best models, the most tokens — is not the same as becoming an AI-native company.

It’s like giving every employee a Steinway and expecting a symphony. What you actually get is a lot of expensive noise.

One week in May, we burned $1.5 million in tokens. Our CFO didn’t like telling me that, and he won’t like that I told you.

So what happened after that? Well, as is often the case at Ramp, a small team built something. A place where everyone got the setup our most AI-forward employees had built for themselves. Within weeks, it wasn’t a tool we used. It was how we worked. It’s called Glass.

Here’s the pitch.

Somewhere in your company, someone figured out the perfect way to prep a sales deck. Someone else wrote a prompt that turned a messy customer call into a clean account plan. Your FP&A leader stayed late and built a workflow that catches every budget variance before it hits the board deck.

You do brilliant work. And almost none of it is seen twice.

It lives in one person's chat history, and it disappears when they close a tab, go on vacation, or leave. Multiply that by every employee, every day, and your company is losing what it learns as fast as it learns it.

So we asked: what if, instead of starting with an empty chat, you started with everything your company ever figured out? Not scattered across Slack, prompts, and your people’s heads, but built into the work itself.

That’s Glass.

Rather than have me explain, let me show you.

Today, I asked Glass how many U.K. customers we’ve added since launching. It knew to exclude U.S. companies with U.K. offices because Finance taught it that months ago. I didn’t explain a thing.

A trivial improvement, you may say—not worth bothering about. But multiply that by every employee, every day, and your company gets better at work every time someone does it.

So far, 323 employees (PMs, CX agents, salespeople, marketers, analysts) have made 6,500+ edits to what Glass knows.

Take new feature requests. They used to be copied by hand into Salesforce, about 300 a month. In May, an account manager saved a prompt to Glass that pulls them straight from customer calls. Now we capture 20,000 a month. Another prompt prioritizes them. A third emails customers when something they asked for ships. More than 5,000 of those emails have gone out so far.

No model ships with your company's brain.

And it works the way your team works. Say a support agent is stuck on a ticket that needs an engineer. She shares her Glass session. The engineer jumps in, sees everything, they finish it together.

Now, about that $1.5 million week.

Our CFO wishes Glass had come sooner. Every project has a meter, like a taxi. So, you see what work costs while it’s happening, not when the invoice arrives.

And every request runs through Ramp Router, which picks the right model for the job. When we moved our own work onto it, our bill fell 30% overnight.

More done. Less spent. That’s Ramp since day 1.

Here’s what you get:

  • Your company’s knowledge. Linear, Notion, Google, Slack, Gong, and dozens more…
  • Multiplayer. Bring a teammate into any session.
  • Skills. One person’s best work. Now everyone’s starting point.
  • Any model. Open or closed. When a better one ships next week, you just use it.
  • A meter on every project. See what it costs. Set limits before they’re crossed.

Most companies slow down as they grow. Glass is our promise that yours won’t. We’re onboarding the first businesses personally. Sign up, don’t look back: ramp.com/glass.

So, “How does Ramp move so fast?”

Well, I sent David four words back: “We learn things once.” And now you can too.

It’s day 2,766. Job’s not finished.

“I assumed I would have to choose between speed and control. What I found is that you can have both. A well-designed system takes friction out, for the finance function and for everyone else.”

“A well-run district should not have to choose between getting work done at the school site and keeping control of the dollars behind it. We're not hiring more people to do more jobs, so we have to be smarter about the process. With Ramp, the purchase, the receipt, and the record stay together from the start. ”

“In senior living, scale only works if the communities still feel personal. We needed the back office to carry more of the complexity, not the people serving residents. Ramp helped us build that infrastructure, so the experience in the community could stay human.”

“AI is moving faster than the finance context around it. Prices change, models change, and the value is not always obvious from an invoice. We needed enough detail to know which bets deserved more investment — and which ones did not.”

“More token spend isn’t proof that AI is working. Less isn’t proof that it isn’t. What matters is whether we’re buying the right level of intelligence for the work. Ramp lets us make that judgment in the same place we manage every other type of spend.”
