Your home office should work as hard as you do.
Ramp has major offices in New York, Miami, and San Francisco, as well as new workspaces in a few other cities where employees live. We have a strong in-office culture, with about 70% of the company coming in regularly. So much so, in fact, that we run out of office space about every six months and keep having to expand our floor plans.
But even those who love being in the office tend to work from home at least once a week.
That’s why every full-time Ramp employee receives a $500 work-from-home stipend on their first day. It’s a one-time fund to help create a workspace that’s comfortable, functional, and actually supports the way each employee works—whether that’s an ergonomic chair, a second monitor, or a new desk that fits the space.
We want every new hire to feel set up for success from day one, no matter where they work. Below is a walk-through of how we implement our WFH stipend spend program at Ramp.

How the spend program works
1. Set an amount and frequency
Each employee gets $500 when they join Ramp. It’s a one-time allocation that doesn’t renew.

2. Decide how funds are issued
Funds are auto-issued to every employee during onboarding so new hires can start using Ramp right away. We just ask employees to wait until their start date to make any purchases.

3. Set restrictions
Funds can only be spent on a handful of relevant categories, like office supplies and electronics. Employees can spend the funds using their physical Ramp card, virtual card, or through reimbursements if the expense exceeds $500. Because this benefit is for new employees, the funds auto-lock 12 months after they’re issued.

4. Set accounting rules
Every transaction is automatically booked to the “Office Supplies” expense account in NetSuite, Ramp's accounting system.

5. Enable approvals and post-purchase requirements
Receipts, memos, and correct accounting codes are required at submission, and all transactions require direct manager approval.

Spend programs that scale
Ramp’s Spend Programs feature is one of our product's most versatile features. It makes it easy to issue and manage company money at scale, whether for remote work, coffee, wellness, travel, or company events.
We use Ramp every day—not just to manage spend, but to strengthen the product from the inside out.

“We used to pay up to $20k a year for our AP platform. With Ramp, we’re earning back well over that amount. That's money that belongs to the mission now, not to the back-office software.”
Heidi Coffer
Chief Financial Officer, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco

“We're accountable to our funders, our partners, and the families we serve. That accountability starts with how we manage every dollar. Ramp makes it easy for our team to spend wisely, track in real time, and keep overhead low so more resources reach the families navigating infertility.”
Rachel Fruchtman
CFO, Jewish Fertility Foundation

“Each member of our team has an outsized impact due to our focus on using high-leverage tools like Ramp.”
Lauren Feeney
Controller, Perplexity

“With Ramp, we haven’t had to add accounting headcount to keep up with growth. The biggest takeaway is that instead of hiring our way through it, we fixed the workflow so we can keep supporting the organization as we scale.”
Melissa M.
VP of Accounting at Brandt Information Services

“In the public sector, every hour and every dollar belongs to the taxpayer. We can't afford to waste either. Ramp ensures we don't.”
Carly Ching
Finance Specialist, City of Ketchum

“Compared to our previous vendor, Ramp gave us true transaction-level granularity, making it possible for me to audit thousands of transactions in record time.”
Lisa Norris
Director of Compliance & Privacy Officer, ABB Optical

“We chose Ramp because it replaced several disparate tools with one platform our teams actually use—if it’s not in Ramp, it’s not getting paid.”
Michael Bohn
Head of Business Operations, Foursquare

“Ramp gives us one structured intake, one set of guardrails, and clean data end‑to‑end— that’s how we save 20 hours/month and buy back days at close.”
