Life sciences companies deal with a complex mix of spend, regulation, and reporting. Every meal, conference, or consulting expense connected to a healthcare professional needs to be tracked, validated, and reported to stay compliant with CMS Open Payments (“Sunshine Act”), state, and local transparency laws.
To automate this high-stakes work and let life sciences employees focus on their real work, Ramp is partnering with MedPro Systems, a trusted source of healthcare provider data and transparency reporting. This builds on Ramp’s built-in Sunshine Act compliance to make it even easier for life sciences businesses to accurately capture and report healthcare provider spend.
The MedPro Systems integration is available to all Ramp Plus customers. Together, we’re giving finance and compliance teams a single place to manage spend and stay compliant.
MedPro’s healthcare provider data, now built into Ramp
MedPro Systems offers life sciences and healthcare companies an industry-leading compliance solution. With access to over 30 million healthcare professional (HCP) and 800,000-plus healthcare organization (HCO) records, MedPro delivers the most accurate, comprehensive, and trusted data in the industry.
By connecting MedPro’s verified healthcare provider data directly to Ramp, companies can now validate every transaction as it happens. That means less time spent chasing NPI numbers, fewer errors at year-end, and complete confidence that reports meet Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), state, and local requirements.
How it works
The Ramp and MedPro integration combines Ramp’s financial automation with MedPro’s healthcare provider data. The goal is simple: help teams manage spend and compliance from one system.
- Identify and associate verified healthcare providers
Employees in the field can search for and select verified healthcare professionals directly within Ramp as they submit expenses using MedPro’s trusted data. Associating an HCP with a transaction helps companies remain compliant with transparency reporting. - Enable secure, automated data sharing with MedPro
Customers can authorize MedPro to securely access their transparency reporting-eligible transactions through Ramp’s protected Dev API. Once a company shares API credentials, MedPro automatically pulls the relevant spend data, removing manual file transfers and ensuring consistent, compliant reporting. - Power transparency reporting with MedPro Compliance Reporting ID (MCR)
Ramp’s exported transaction data becomes one of the validated inputs for MedPro to generate federal Open Payments, state, and local transparency reports. MedPro can combine Ramp data with additional sources to deliver a comprehensive, audit-ready reporting package.
This extends Ramp’s existing Sunshine Act compliance solution, enabling customers to layer MedPro’s verified healthcare provider data and automated reporting capabilities directly on top of the workflows they already use in Ramp.
Why it matters
For most life sciences companies, compliance requires multiple systems, spreadsheets, and reconciliations that take time away from higher-value work.
By bringing MedPro’s verified data into Ramp, companies can tag, validate, and report healthcare provider spend with accuracy and confidence — all without leaving Ramp. Finance teams save hours each month, reduce reporting risk, and maintain a complete audit trail.
This partnership also strengthens Ramp’s commitment to the life sciences industry. MedPro brings over 25 years of compliance expertise, while Ramp provides the automation and visibility modern finance teams need to move faster. Together, we’re helping life sciences organizations stay compliant and focus on growing and improving their business instead of paperwork.

“More vendors are allowing for discounts now, because they’re seeing the quick payment. That started with Ramp—getting everyone paid on time. We’ll get a 1-2% discount for paying early. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you’re dealing with hundreds of millions of dollars, it does add up.”
