Built for Project-Based Firms: The Ramp + Deltek Vantagepoint Integration, Powered by PCI

Architecture, engineering, and consulting firms run on projects. Every dollar spent — a flight to a client site, a software subscription, a subcontractor invoice — needs to land against the right project, phase, and task before it ever hits the general ledger. For firms running Deltek Vantagepoint, that has historically meant someone manually exporting from one system and importing into another, hoping the project codes survived the trip.
Today, that changes. Ramp is announcing a new integration with Deltek Vantagepoint, built and maintained by our partner PCI, that connects your Ramp spend data directly to your VP instance. No CSV, no copy-paste, no catching up on a Friday afternoon.
The cost of disconnected systems for AEC finance teams
Vantagepoint is purpose-built for professional services: it understands projects, phases, tasks, and the billing structures that go with them. Ramp is purpose-built for modern spend management: real-time controls, automated receipt collection, and AP automation. But when those two systems don't talk, the burden falls on your finance team: credit card charges sitting uncoded, AP vouchers entered by hand, and month-end close that stretches into weeks.
A purpose-built connection for project-based finance
The Ramp + Vantagepoint integration, built and maintained by PCI, creates a secure, bi-directional sync between your two systems. Card transactions flow from Ramp into Vantagepoint with project coding intact. Bills create AP vouchers automatically. Master data like GL accounts, projects, phases, tasks, and vendors stay current in Ramp as it changes in Vantagepoint. Your finance team gets out of the business of moving data between systems.
Benefits of the integration
- Project coding that survives the handoff. Credit card charges sync from Ramp into Vantagepoint as Expense Reports with project, phase, and task coding intact, including split transactions. Receipt images attach automatically, and sync status is reported back to Ramp so nothing falls through the cracks.
- AP that runs itself. Bills approved in Ramp flow to Vantagepoint as AP vouchers with invoice images attached, including support for Vantagepoint's Pay When Paid terms, so vendor payments align with client receipts the way AEC firms expect. Domestic and international payments are both supported, and payment status syncs back automatically without needing any manual reconciliation.
- Approval workflows that match how AEC firms actually operate. The integration supports project manager-based approvals, so expenses get reviewed by the people closest to the project before they hit the books, without creating workarounds outside your existing process.
- Master data that stays current. GL accounts, projects, phases, tasks, and vendor records sync from Vantagepoint to Ramp on a configurable schedule. When a new engagement opens in Vantagepoint, it's available for coding in Ramp on the next cycle.
- Built for multi-entity firms. A single Ramp account maps to multiple Vantagepoint companies, with transactions routed to the correct entity automatically. Vantagepoint stays the system of record for vendors; creates, updates, and inactivations all flow through without any manual work on the Ramp side.
