Can you open a small business credit card without any income?

It’s possible to open a business credit card even if your company is just starting out. Some credit card issuers do not require your startup to generate any revenue to qualify for a card.

These issuers will look at your personal credit score and may request that you make a personal guarantee. This guarantee requires that you use your personal assets to pay off any business credit card debt that the company cannot cover. Personal guarantees get around corporate protection.

As your startup grows and generates more revenue, it will become easier to qualify for the best business credit cards and receive lower interest rates.

Can you get a small business credit card if you have bad personal credit?

A low personal credit score will make it more difficult to get a business credit card, but you still have options. Many issuers offer secured credit cards for companies that are getting started or want to repair bad credit.

Secured business credit cards require a security deposit to get started. This security deposit becomes your credit limit, and you'll only receive it back if you close your card or upgrade to an unsecured business credit card.

Some banks offer seamless upgrades if you demonstrate a good payment history and responsible credit use. These upgrades can take place as early as six months after you open a secured credit card. Leveling up to an unsecured business credit card typically comes with a higher credit limit and better rewards for every purchase.

Grow your business with the Ramp Business Credit Card

Every business needs access to additional capital. More funds allow you to make more investments and acquire assets that take your business to the next level. The Ramp Business Credit Card is a popular choice for many companies since it doesn’t have a preset spending limit.

As long as you pay off the balance each month, your spending limit can comfortably exceed the limits set by other credit card issuers. You'll also receive cashback on purchases and don’t have to worry about any fees, including APR.

Our previous bill pay process probably took a good 10 hours per AP batch. Now it just takes a couple of minutes between getting an invoice entered, approved, and processed.

It's great to be able to park our operating cash in the Ramp Business Account where it earns an actual return and then also pay the bills from that account to maximize float.

The practice managers love Ramp, it allows them to keep some agency for paying practice expenses. They like that they can instantaneously attach receipts at the time of transaction, and that they can text back-and-forth with the automated system. We've gotten a lot of good feedback from users.

The reason I've been such a super fan of Ramp is the product velocity. Not only is it incredibly beneficial to the user, it’s also something that gives me confidence in your ability to continue to pull away from other products.

Switching to Ramp for Bill Pay saved us not only time but also a significant amount of money. Our previous AP automation tool cost us around $40,000 per year, and it wasn’t even working properly. Ramp is far more functional, and we’re getting the benefits at a fraction of the cost.
