Fix an invoice once and AP agent remembers forever.

Every month, your AP team fixes the same GL codes, overrides the same due dates, and consolidates the same line items for the same vendors. The corrections never stick. The same manual work repeats.

OCR was built to recognize what's on an invoice. Ramp's AP agent is built to remember how your team processes it.

Your AP team's expertise lives in their heads: the correct GL codes, the vendor quirks, the payment terms, the line-item logic, and more. All reapplied manually to every new invoice. Ramp's AP agent encodes it. Once.

The result: Ramp now processes twice as many invoices without any manual work as before.1

How the AP agent remembers

Your corrections are the rules

There is no universal way to process invoices. Every finance team sets their own playbook. Ramp’s AP agent studies the differences between the raw invoice scan and the finalized bills that your team approved. It remembers every edit, learns the rule, and applies it next time. Your team never has to correct the same mistake twice.

The agent also adapts when you do. If your team used to pay a vendor net 20 but recently switched to paying on receipt, the agent picks up on the shift — no rule changes required. It applies your current behavior, not what you did six months ago.

Your team can teach it in plain English

No rules to configure. No workflows to build. Tell the agent how you want to handle invoices, and it remembers.

  • “Aggregate line items into software and goods, and group the totals. Keep the tax line separate.” An invoice with 15 line items becomes three. Cleaner data in your ERP, zero manual consolidation.
  • “Always pay net 60 from invoice date.” One instruction, applied instantly.
  • “Add service period to line items for this vendor.” Vendor-specific rules that persist as permanent memory.

Instructions can be applied to a single vendor or all vendors. These instructions stack with historical learnings, so the AP agent combines what it observes with what you tell it.

Every AI decision is auditable

Every field the agent fills includes an explanation showing how it arrived at that value. It cites specific approved bills, user instructions, or vendor patterns. Your team always knows why, and it’s easy to verify.

The agent gets smarter. Your team gets time back.

Last October, we introduced the AP agent that uses context to auto-code accounting fields, getting 85% right the first time.2 Today's release is one more step toward our vision of zero-touch AP.

Every bill your team approves makes the next one easier. The AP agent processes your invoices. Your team reviews.

That's how AP should work.
